Many people are drawn to this type of job because they feel that they can make a difference. It is a huge advantage to have great people skills and the ability to work flexible hours as many different shifts are typically available. Finding an EKG and phlebotomy training in Bronx should not be too difficult.

Many local colleges and vocational schools offer courses for those interested in the field. These can run from as little as four weeks of full time classes to a year of part time attendance for advanced certification. Candidates are really able to choose a course that fits with their schedule. Some people want to be ready as soon as possible. When they enroll for the full time class they must be aware that there will be homework and they need to be able to set aside enough time to complete this. Otherwise they may well be left behind and not be able to catch up.

A phlebotomist is a laboratory technician who is trained in drawing blood for testing or donation. There are very strict health and safety procedures associated with the job and applicants must be aware of how to avoid any potential contamination either to themselves or to their patients.

A person can become trained as an EKG technician is as little as four weeks. The program is offered at a variety of locations ranging from local technical schools to hospitals. Those with family commitments may need to attend classes on weekends or evenings. It does take longer to gain certification this way but the course content is still the same.

The technician applies a series of monitors to the patients chest and records the electrical impulses from the heart. The receive thorough training in not just conducting the tests, but reading the results. Advanced training is also available for those who wish to go on to monitoring and stress testing. This field is growing so rapidly that there are many outstanding career opportunities available in a number of settings. Some people enjoy the bustle of a busy hospital, whilst others prefer the more welcoming aspects of a small local clinic.

Phlebotomists work in hospitals, clinics and many other settings. They are trained to take blood from everyone, from infants in the nursery to older patients in the geriatric ward. Having great people skills is crucial as many people are quite afraid of the blood draw procedure. Children can become quite distressed when faced with the sight of a needle and knowing how to deal with this situation calmly is very important.

A high school diploma is an essential requirement for enrollment in a course. Students will learn about safety, the legal aspects of the medical field, patient care skills as well as hands on blood drawing techniques. A course can be completed in as little as three or four weeks of full time study.

Spineone Patient Review

By Jerome J Hoffman Jerome Hoffman was a patient at SpineOne in Denver, CO. He was violently rear-ended in an automobile accident in 2012 and needed help for acute back and neck pain. The treatment plan devised by the physician that Jerome saw included three main areas - muscle relaxer medicine, PT work done at the SpineOne Rehab Center, and 3 minimally invasive injections that were intended to "kick-start" the healing process - the injections had both steroids to assist in healing and an anesthesia to help with the pain. It took Jerome 2 months before he was feeling confident about the strength of his back and neck. After 4 months, he discontinued the medication and finished the last of the 3 targeted injections. He went to physical Therapy 2-3 times a week, where the focus was strengthening his core and teaching him how to do exercises on his own. The Physical therapist that he worked with was diligent about making sure that Jerome did his "homework" eve...
