At Home Teeth Whitening

By Hedrick Lepsch

In high school I was on my school's marching band and color guard team. We had an approximately 10 minute long show that we practiced and rehearsed day in and day out until the big day of the competition in the faraway land of Indianapolis, Indiana. While my friend was rehearsing a toss on her rifle, instead of catching it the way she had always practiced the wind blew it and it ended up coming down on her head. Specifically, her tooth. It knocked her tooth right out, and she was whisked away.

From then on my high school has always kept track of the nearest emergency facilities they can access wherever they travel, including dental emergencies. Because they were able to rush her to the dentist as soon as possible they were able to recover her tooth with minimal pain and damage.

From strips and trays to toothpastes, there are tons of options for teeth whitening, but you may find yourself wondering what really works. Most of the options though, will work as long as you choose the right one for your teeth. Here are a few of the things that you should know before you decide on the best whitener for your smile.

After an emergency such as my friend's, it is crucial that you go to the dentist as soon as possible. Even just 30 minutes of delay can be the difference between saving or losing a tooth. It is important to remember the protocol you must follow if one of your teeth does get knocked out. If that ever happens you do not want to touch the root. If you do you may damage cells that are needed for bone reattachment.

Most whiteners include peroxide, and since it is safe-for-the-mouth it is the best bleaching agent for tooth care. Though this method is very effective, you should be aware that it can lead to temporary sensitivity. It is a good idea to whiten at home as long as your mouth is generally healthy and you have met with a dentist within the last year or so.

But there are a few people that should not whiten at home. First, those who have extremely sensitive teeth, second anyone with fillings on their front teeth, and third those whose teeth are grey, not yellow. Bleaching teeth with these issues will not be successful. Before you decide to bleach your teeth at home, talk to your dentist and make sure that you are a good candidate. It would be rather disappointing to start bleaching your teeth at home only to find out that your mouth isn't a good match for the process.

We should always be prepared for any emergencies but oftentimes we cannot handle it ourselves. Cosmetic dentists in Sandy, UT are always willing and able to provide their services during times of dental emergency. It is better that these situations are handled by professionals and experts that have years of experience and are able to prevent the emergency from getting any worse.

Top Chiropractor In North Royalton Helps Carpal Tunnel Syndrome Sufferers

By Hans Gerhard A prominent North Royalton chiropractor provides pain relief for those stricken with carpal tunnel syndrome. The median nerve that passes through the wrist to innervate the hands and fingers becomes compressed. Signs are pain, tingling and numbness. Eight bones form a tunnel in the wrist. The median nerve will be impeded if that tunnel narrows for any reason. There can be swelling around the carpal bones that cause it to become narrowed. A job that involves typing on a computer may be lost. Those people between the age of thirty and sixty are most susceptible. More of the sufferers are female. Someone who has connective tissue disease, diabetes or hypothyroidism is more at risk for developing this condition. Chiropractic care for this is preferred due to the fact it is non-invasive and do ...

Hard Core Hiking: Some Tips To Make It Easier

By Kamryn Mattson For those who love to hike, you might be thinking about taking your day treks a bit further and enjoy some overnight and multi-day hikes. This is a great way to enjoy some spectacular scenery that is only accessible by foot. It's definitely a challenge to backpack for many days, but here are some tips that can make it easier. Preparation for these long, multi-day adventures is highly important. You can't simply hop from simple weekly hikes and then expect to be ready to spend a week or more traversing the Pacific Coast Trail or the Grand Canyon. It takes time to build up the stamina that you will need for these big hiking trips, so be sure to begin training months before you go. If your hike will be taking place at a high elevation, it is wise to train at higher elevations prior to the big trip. Elevation can be quite difficult, so in addition to training at higher elevations, work on improving your cardiovascular health. Your feet can be your best...

Spineone Patient Review

By Jerome J Hoffman Jerome Hoffman was a patient at SpineOne in Denver, CO. He was violently rear-ended in an automobile accident in 2012 and needed help for acute back and neck pain. The treatment plan devised by the physician that Jerome saw included three main areas - muscle relaxer medicine, PT work done at the SpineOne Rehab Center, and 3 minimally invasive injections that were intended to "kick-start" the healing process - the injections had both steroids to assist in healing and an anesthesia to help with the pain. It took Jerome 2 months before he was feeling confident about the strength of his back and neck. After 4 months, he discontinued the medication and finished the last of the 3 targeted injections. He went to physical Therapy 2-3 times a week, where the focus was strengthening his core and teaching him how to do exercises on his own. The Physical therapist that he worked with was diligent about making sure that Jerome did his "homework" eve...
